Egypt

Is Egypt safe for women?

Egypt is generally safe for women, but there are certain things to have in mind. Dressing modestly is appreciated, particularly in more conservative areas, and being aware of your surroundings is advisable. It´s always a good idea to stay informed about local customs and adhere to them for a more comfortable and secure experience.

 

Do women need to be covered from head to toe to go outside?

No, you don’t have to cover yourself from head to toe. This is only the case for conservative Muslim. Have in mind that Egyptian Christian women also don’t cover themselves. It´s recommended to dress modestly, especially when you visiting religious sites.

Can you drink/ buy alcohol?

Yes, it is possible to buy alcohol in specialized shops and drink alcohol at home. There are also pubs/bars which sell alcoholic drinks such as beer and cocktails. We recommend to not drink alcohol on the street while walking or sitting in public areas.

Can I drink the tap water?

No, tap water is not clean enough to be drunk by humans. Stick to bottled or purified water to prevent any potential health issues. It’s important to mention, that fruits and salad should be washed with purified water. In the redNERD-Villa you find a 7-stage filter that ensures a high drinking water quality.

Do I need a marriage certificate when i come with my partner?

No, you do not need a marriage certificate to share a room together with your significant other.

 

How long can I stay in Egypt with a tourist VISA?

The VISA on arrival allows you to stay 28 days in Egypt. The maximum fee for an overstay is 55€.Extension is possible at the immigration office for approximately the same price.

 

Is UBER/IN-Drive working in Egypt?

UBER and IN-Drive is working very well in Hurghada and provides very cheap transportation services within Hurghada for 1-2€.

 

Coliving

Will I have privacy?

Yes, it´s up to you and always a very personal decision how much you want to integrate yourself into the community. However, you are more than welcome to join our community events and get in contact with other guests.

Are pets allowed?

No, pets are not allowed. You will find in the villa one rabbit and two cats.

 

Are there discounts for longer stays?

These three attractive discounts are designed to reward our valued community members who choose to make the villa to their home for an extended period:
– 10% biweekly discount (14 nights)
– 20% monthly discount (30 nights)
– 30% bimonthly discount (60 nights)

 

Coworking

Does the villa offer coworking facilities?

Yes, we provide a large Coworking space with ergonomic chairs and tables, screens, keyboard and mouse. The space also includes a printer, a large TV and two couches for a more comfortable working atmosphere. From the Coworking-Space you can directly enter the garden/pool area and get refreshed!

Are the coworking spaces accessible 24/7?

The coworking space is open 24/7 and can be used day & night.

Is the WIFI stable?

Yes. The WIFI is generally stable. Due to the usage of modern MESH Technology the WIFI is accessible from everywhere in the villa. The change of an access point happens seamless while moving around.

Are there conference rooms?

We do not have a conference room. But you find a table and chair in your private room to conduct calls / meetings.

What are the working areas around the house?

Work from anywhere in our Villa – wheter around the pool/garden, rooftop with sea-view, courtyard, kitchen, or your own room for added privacy.

Are there monitors available to use?

Yes. There are currently monitors available in the coworking space. You can use the monitors free of charge.

What kind of people stay at Coliving Hurghada?

Most of our guests are remote workers, entrepreneurs and digital nomads, while some are tourists from all over the world who enjoy to life in community. All have adventurous souls and are looking to connect and share their experiences with others.

What kind of activities are there?

Hurghada is full of many amazing activities! In the villa we will have community-dinners, movie & game-nights, shisha & tea-nights, pool-parties. You can do wind- & kitesurfing, snorkling & scuba diving, dessert-safaris, quad & buggy-tours, horseback riding, submarine, marina for beer & drinks, fish market-dinner, Al Mina Mosque and much more.

Location

Where is Hurghada?

Hurghada is a city at the Red Sea and unique in Egypt since it’s a mixed place of traditional Egyptians and tourists from all over the world. There is an active community outside of the hotels and a whole new culture to explore. Starting from Hurghada, trips to Cairo (Pyramids, 7h) and Luxor (Temple, Valley of the king, 4h) are possible by a comfortable bus.

What is the weather like in Hurghada?

Hurghada is a very hot place in summer (July - September) reaching temperatures of 38-43°C. Temperatures decrease starting from September, reaching the lowest in February / March (20°C).

How do I get to Coliving Hurghada?

Our redNERD-Villa is only 15min away by car from the International Airport of Hurghada or the GoBus-Station in Hurghada City-center. You find the location also on google maps “Coliving Hurghada” and also within the UBER-App.

Do you have a parking area?

You find free parking areas outside at the street in front of the villa.

Is there a gym nearby?

There are several gyms available for men and women in Hurghada (10-15min by car) on very low rates.

Are there supermarkets and ATMs close by?

The closest supermarket and restaurants are only 5min away by foot. The next ATM is 5min away by car on the way to Hurghada city.

Are there beaches close by?

There are many available beaches in and around Hurghada. The closest one is next to “Casablanca” only 5min away by car. Entrance fee: 2€/100EGP.
